Schule Thurgauerstrasse
Commissioned by the City of Zurich to create a unique signage design for the new Thurgauerstrasse School, we wanted to contrast the building's technical design by Bollhalder Walser Architects with playful elements that evoke the spirit of childhood. Inspired by early educational tools such as the "Deutschschweizer Basisschrift" and the grid structures of the architecture, we designed a special font, OP Saturday, for both 2D and 3D applications. Collaborating closely with Hot Wire Extensions, renowned for their sustainable and innovative manufacturing processes, we produced dynamic, playful signage that brings a subtle, tactile warmth and blends seamlessly with the building's architecture, marking a successful fusion of design, material experimentation and new technology.
